I started “dreaming” of the new work space about six or seven years ago. I had leased space for a retail studio for about five years and started feeling a bit restless given the overhead and turn for the worse in the economy. Not to mention my wife and I had set our eyes on some beautiful property in Davie county that had room for everything we wanted to do. Eventually, this move from a retail shop to a home based business became a reality. We moved our family out to Advance and I started working from home doing many of my commercial based shoots either on location or in my garage. Of course, photographing clients in the garage was not as conducive so I set up for headshots in our kitchen. Honestly, it has worked pretty well, with the one exception of setting up and breaking down the set. This is, of course, time consuming… not to mention a little intrusive on family meals. After prayerful consideration and planning, we finally committed to moving forward with some dedicated home office space allocated in a new accessory building next to our home.
A Journey to New Work Space
